At First Presbyterian Church, our ministries are organized into areas of Discipleship, Fellowship, and Outreach. We worship together whenever we gather to study God’s Word, to share the joys of Christian community, and to serve others with a loving heart. It’s central to our identity and is evident in our mission statement:
Energized by grace, the First Presbyterian Church of Oxford seeks to provide a hospitable environment in which to worship God; to know and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ; with the help of the Holy Spirit to support, nurture and sustain all on their journeys of faith; and to serve as the hands and feet of Christ here and around the world.
Discipleship:
“to know and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ”
“Knowing” requires intentional learning. That is what discipleship is all about. Jesus called disciples unto him and continues to call us. By intentionally learning more about who God is, we know more about who we are as we are made in God’s image. By intentionally learning about the teachings of Jesus Christ, we know the deepest understanding of God’s grace. By intentionally learning under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we know our actions will demonstrate the love of God as we seek to love our neighbors.

Fellowship:

Fellowship is supporting and nurturing one another. When we gather together for various fellowship opportunities at FPC, we support one another as a community of faith and nurture each individual along their journey of faith. In these moments the Holy Spirit moves with us as people are brought closer together through meals and activities. Learn more about our fellowship opportunities and congregational life here.
Outreach:

Our outreach ministries give opportunities for individuals to serve others. From young adult service projects to mission trips to Haiti, members seek to share God’s love through service with everyone they meet. Learn more about our outreach opportunities and missional giving here.
