Welcome! Music lies at the heart of worship at First Presbyterian Church, Oxford. With a long legacy of nurturing the arts and supporting musical excellence within the community, we are committed to sharing the many gifts and talents God has given our church. We strive to follow a common vision to be a loving faith community and offer a space for creativity and expression.

Music on Sunday mornings and at special worship services, concerts, and events throughout the year are open to the public. People of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in any of our musical groups or help behind the scenes in the Music at First ministry. All are welcome in this beautiful sacred space!

CHANCEL CHOIR: Rehearses Wednesdays 5:30 – 6:45 pm
Our Chancel Choir is open to teenagers and adults and sings regularly for our 11am worship service. In addition to leading worship, this ensemble prepares special services throughout the year, including a service of Lessons and Carols. The choir regularly collaborates with guest musicians from the community. The requirements for membership are enthusiasm and a willingness to learn: no audition is required.

The Children’s Choir is open to all children pre-k through 5th grade. This joyful group learns about music through singing and playing a variety of instruments. They periodically participate in worship services and prepare a Christmas Eve pageant for the whole community to enjoy.

Music at First Concert Series

First Presbyterian Church regularly hosts guest artists through our Music at First Concert Series. These seasonal performances are free to the public and take place all throughout the church year. Music at First aims to offer diverse and exceptional music programming with a broad array of repertoire. We encourage collaborations and creativity when planning events and welcome intergenerational involvement from ministries across the church.
